Shots

Nina had her four month appointment at the pediatrician yesterday, she had to get four shots, which was probably more painful for me than her, I actually had to leave the room and let Sean hold her while she was getting them. The doctor says that she is doing well, she is measuring in at 11 lbs, 2 oz, and is 24.5 inches long. She is only 10% for weight but 50th % for height, which is pretty good considering that she is half Indian. We talked about starting solid foods at 5 1/2 months. He feels that her birthmark has stabilized, but wants me to take her to an opthamologist to be sure that her eye development isn't affected by the hemangioma, so we will do that in two weeks. In other news, my Dad made a fabulous eggplant dish yesterday, it was japanese eggplant in a tasty sauce. When I asked him how he made the sauce he replied very matter of factly, "well, I made a roux, and then added brown sugar and soy sauce." Somebody has been watching too much of the Food Network! What a crack up.
